Key Responsibilities:

Provide post-operative care to patients in the recovery room or post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) following surgical procedures, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being.

Monitor patients closely, assessing their vital signs, pain levels, and overall condition to identify any signs of complications or adverse reactions to anesthesia or surgery.

Administer medications, fluids, and treatments as prescribed, and collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualised care plans for each patient.

Assist patients in their recovery process, providing education and support regarding pain management, wound care, and post-operative instructions.

Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely, maintaining comprehensive records of patient care.

Requirements:

Registered Nurse (RN) licensure and relevant experience in perioperative or post-anesthesia care.

Sound knowledge of anesthesia techniques, post-operative monitoring, and common complications.

Proficiency in assessing and managing pain, recognizing and responding to changes in patient condition, and providing appropriate interventions.

Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and the healthcare team.

Continuous professional development and staying updated with current evidence-based practices in perioperative and post-anesthesia care.
